Position Overview
NWN Corporation is seeking a Solutions Engineer to join a well established company in the IT industry. Due to their growing business, they require an IT professional to provide escalation support for their managed service customer base. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years experience with 2nd line support to IT staff for Windows 2000/03, Windows XP, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange 5.5 – 2003, MS SQL Server 2000 and above, Backup Exec and Symantec. Candidates will ideally be MCSE accredited with a knowledge of the above as well as having experience with Routers, Switches & VOIP phone systems whilst being CCNA accredited with a knowledge of routers is hugely desirable

Job Title: VOIP Systems Engineer
NWN, a Cisco Gold Level Systems Integrator, is looking for an experienced Cisco Voice Over IP candidate (Systems Engineer II) for our Research Triangle Park/Raleigh area office to for maintenance of VOIP solutions.
The systems engineer is responsible for the maintenance and upgrades of network applications - primarily voice and video services – including IP telephony, voice mail, contact center applications, voice conferencing, video conferencing, web/on line conferencing, and application management tools. In addition to these technical responsibilities, the systems engineer is charged with communicating the status regarding network application initiatives to ITS staff and management, vendors, and internal customers. The primary focus of this position is maintaining and upgrading a Cisco IP Telephony product suite. The telephony environment includes Call Manager, Unity voice mail, IPCC, and Meeting Place. The video environment includes Polycom (endpoints) and Cisco (MCUs) video conferencing, plus Crestron control systems and peripheral components from EIKI and Smart Technologies. Management tools/services include Cisco Works and Cisco ROS (previously NetSolve).
Skills/Knowledge
2-4 years minimum hands on experience supporting Cisco IP Telephony Solutions including Call Manager, Unity, IP Phones, IPCC, Voice Gateways, and QOS for the LAN/WAN. Excellent oral and written communications skills, and interaction with end users, vendors, and technical staff is required. Knowledge of or skills in performance tuning and testing is required. Knowledge of project management methodologies and change management processes is required. Knowledge in planning, design, and implementation of video conferencing systems is a plus.
Minimum Requirements
